EnerSys recently hosted a Sustainability Round Table at their corporate headquarters in Reading, PA. This event brought together industry leaders from Walmart, Sam’s Club, JBT, Penske, Nilfisk, and United Rentals to discuss and share best practices on their sustainability journeys.
Christina Sivulka, EnerSys’ Global Sustainability Manager, kicked off the event with insightful remarks. She detailed how EnerSys sources raw materials sustainably and minimizes their environmental footprint. Christina also announced the on-going solar panel installation at the Reading site, set for completion in 2024. This installation will power one of the two buildings on the Reading campus, demonstrating EnerSys’ dedication to renewable energy.
Attendees focused on strategies for maximizing battery life. They shared best practices for maintaining battery health through advanced technologies like wireless charging. This discussion highlighted the crucial role of efficient battery usage in achieving sustainability goals.

JBT’s Contribution: Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs)
Mark Longacre, Mike Camut, Danny Wong, and Andy Kauffman from JBT presented on the role of Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) in supporting sustainability. They discussed how AGVs:
